At the gates of the stately Santa Caterina di Nardò, a seaside destination particularly appreciated by the nobility and upper middle class of this area of the Heel of Italy, there is a refined and reserved residence, equipped with valuable comforts and able to guarantee a very high quality of stay. The villa appears shielded from prying eyes, in fact the simple and linear appearance visible from the outside contrasts with the distinctive and persuasive character of the building, perfectly integrated into the remarkable estate (20,000 square meters). Going along the small access ramp, you will notice the beauty of the local stone (amber at sunset), which makes up the excellent house, adjacent to a fantastic swimming pool. The house is intelligently designed with a view to the independence of spaces, the usability of the rooms and the continuous interior / exterior, as if Mother Nature herself (without being blasphemous) had carved the rock and designed the shapes. The large covered veranda, open on 3 sides, has an area for outdoor dining, where the table is positioned adjacent to the "L" -shaped stone bench. Here we also have various chairs, a rocking chair and, in the opposite corner (with respect to the table), the relaxation lounge. From the veranda, two entrances lead into as many rooms, communicating with each other. They are the kitchen (very well-equipped: hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge with freezer and everything you need) and the dining room (a large and bright room equipped with an 8-seater table, fireplace and various furniture), surmounted by a fantastic barrel vaulted ceiling. The fact that these 2 rooms communicate with each other (via corridor) and with the veranda (through direct openings), makes it convenient to have lunch and move around, in any weather and organizational conditions. From the corridor on the ground floor, you reach some bedrooms: the beautiful double bedroom with mezzanine (also equipped with a two-seater bed) adjacent to a refined bathroom (complete with shower and toilet) and another bedroom, always double, equipped with a toilet (having everything you need). The second room just described has further external access on the east side. The third room is also independent. It is very bright, despite being in the basement, thanks to the free west side. To access it, go along an external staircase (under which we find a washing machine and sink). The room has a double bed, various furniture and a dedicated toilet (with shower, sink and bathroom fixtures). In these last 2 rooms, it is possible to add a single bed and / or cot. The excellent internal comfort is amplified by the fabulous outdoor spaces. The view is immediately attracted by the huge infinity pool, 25x11m, designed for adults and children. The first 6 meters (therefore a rectangle of 11x6 square meters, larger than most of the residential pools), simulate the water's edge and having a depth of 30cm, allow the little ones to play safely (or offer entrancing moments of relaxation for adults ). After this stretch, the depth gradually increases until it reaches 2.5 meters in the diving area, equipped with an athletic springboard. Next to the stretch of water we find the solarium area with deck chairs, the comfortable hammock and an area with table, chairs and umbrella. In this fine dwelling nothing is missing: you can stop in the pine forest, perhaps reading a good book, or reach the tennis court. Organise a fun soccer match, or prepare a barbecue in the dedicated area (barbecue, oven and large stone table), in the shade of pine, olive and holm oak trees. Salento is appreciated in Italy and in the world for the beauty of its coasts, the wonderful historical centres and monuments, the excellent food and, also, for this type of residences for stays.
